Finance Assistant - Sales Ledger | FMCG Sector | £28,000-£30,000 | Office-Based (Wembley)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant (Sales Ledger) to join a fast-paced, well-established business in the FMCG sector, based in Wembley. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and motivated individual looking to take the next step in their finance career, with exposure to leading national retailers and a collaborative finance team.

The Opportunity:Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in managing the sales ledger process, from raising and posting invoices to resolving customer queries and supporting credit control. You’ll thrive in a vibrant office environment, with flexible working options and the occasional opportunity to work from home when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise and post EDI invoices, particularly for major retailers such as Tesco

  • Process credits for pricing or delivery discrepancies

  • Resolve customer queries in a timely and professional manner

  • Accurately allocate payments and manage deductions

  • Process and understand debit notes from customers

  • Raise and manage queries via retailer portals regarding delayed payments

  • Collaborate with and support the broader credit control team

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance/sales ledger role, ideally within FMCG or a fast-paced product-based environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Navision is a plus

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving

  • A team player with a 'right-first-time’ mindset and the ability to work under pressure
